Rikkert Hindriks
About meI am assistant professor at the Department of Mathematics of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Previously I was a postdoc at the Clinical Neurophysiology Group of Michel van Putten at the Technical University (UT) Twente and at the Computational Neuroscience Research Group of Gustavo Deco at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona, Spain). ResearchI am interested in the analysis and (forward/inverse/computational) modeling of heamodynamic (BOLD-fMRI) signals, extra-cellular electrophysiological signals recorded at different scales (local field potentials, electrocorticography, and scalp EEG), and magnetoencephalographic (MEG) signals. I am particularly interested in assessing statistical dependencies in (high-dimensional) time-series data and spatiotemporal dynamics. Currently I work on assessing higher-order statistical dependencies in multivariate electrophysiological signals in the context of the doctoral network Beyond The Edge using methods from generalized multivariate statistics, information theory, algebra and geometry.
